YouTube TV adds a clock to its live guide; Apple TV gets the new UI

Little things often make the biggest differences. The largest live TV streaming service in the United States, YouTube TV, has upgraded its live guide to include a clock.

Why, you enquire? Naturally, this is so you can tell what time it is.

It’s a minor improvement. Furthermore, whether it be on your wrist, phone, or wall, there are already a variety of methods to view the time. Yet YouTube TV is so happy about the inclusion that it created a GIF to celebrate it.

Hold tight if you haven’t seen the clock yet; it’s rolling out to gadgets in living rooms now.

In other YouTube TV news, the revised YouTube TV user interface is now available for Apple TV. It does away with the largest grid, which was perhaps a little easier to see, in favor of the smaller boxes that the other platforms have been using for some time. That is noteworthy for several reasons. The first is that the design is superior and more advanced. The second is that you receive recommendations when you initially switch to the live guide, giving YouTube TV another chance to suggest a programmed you might find interesting rather than relying on your own judgement.

Thus, you also have that to look forward to.

As of June 2022, YouTube TV had more than 5 million subscribers, which is almost 1.4 million more than its closest rival, Hulu With Live TV. Every major streaming platform, including the aforementioned Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, as well as a variety of smart TVs and online browsers, has it available.
