Nintendo Switch loses an exclusive Square Enix game next month

Beginning next month, Square Enix’s stunning HD-2D Live A Live remake will no longer be a Nintendo Switch exclusive. On April 27, the game will be available for Desktops and PlayStation devices.

A unique grid-based RPG with an entertaining story device is called Live A Life. Prehistory, The Middle Ages, Imperial China, Twilight of Edo Japan, The Wild West, Present Day, The Near Future, and The Far Future are the eight distinct time periods that make up its plot. Each has a unique protagonist and gameplay mechanics, and they all build to a climax in the final chapter.

In addition, this SNES recreation from 1994 delivers the experience a stunning visual upgrade with HD-2D graphics that rival those in titles like Octopath Traveler 2. According to George Yang’s three and a half star review of Live A Live for Digital Trends, the game is endearing and “has the trademarks that make it a good entry in the category.”

Nintendo released the Live A Live Switch edition in North America. But, Square Enix has reclaimed control now that the game is being released on other platforms. Square Enix has today published a sample for Live A Live on PS4 and PS5, which enables users to experience out parts of the Twilight of Edo Japan, The Distant World, and other forthcoming content.

Live a Life is currently available for the Nintendo Switch and will be released on April 27 for the PC, PS4, and PS5. Members of PlayStation Plus can currently preorder the game for 20% less.
